Re: No Detroit CHR from 1994-98?
95.5 was in the upper echelon as measured by revenue throughout the 90s, so I definitely agree. Even after Purtan departed, revenue remained strong. 93.1 eventually throwing in the towel on AC reinforced the sensibility of the decision to go with a workplace friendly format at 95.5. you will have ...

Re: No Detroit CHR from 1994-98?
I remember 95.5 making a big change in 89ish. I recalling phoning in a request for Batdance by Prince back then and being told they no longer play that. Was that the change from CZY to KQI? About August 1989 they made the change from CHR to Hot AC. since they were basically HOT AC during Purton's ...

Re: FM Transmitter Range
I do agree, no one cares anymore. The FM band is so congested with useless translators, that should’ve never been approved. A pirate in an area like Detroit could get away with broadcasting, the only problem is your signal would be trashed 3 city blocks away. If you’re going to spend a grand or two ...

How "legal" are they?? I have a cottage in a small town where nobody really cares about what people are doing it would be nice to transmit on my 5 acre property. if it goes farther than that should I really be worried? Amy Grant - Baby, Baby (no. 1) Bette Midler - From a Distance (no. 2) Michael Bolton - How Can We Be Lovers (no. 3), When a Man Loves A Woman (no. 1) Gloria Estefan - Coming Out of the Dark (no. 1) Celine Dion had half of her songs make the top 5, and multiple number 1 hits. And I don't think I ...

Re: 1991 Z-rock Airchecks?
Methinks the Z Rock at 102.7 was merely licensed. We had local talent here. The first couple years, it was all programming off the bird. they then went to local DJs and programming most of the day. at night it was back to the feed it was interesting in the last year, the base programming switched ...

Re: Todays Music, Todays Wheelz
Another problem with Today's Wheelz was the talent pool was completely drained within a year Ken Calvert, Sheri Donavon and Bob Bauer were all out leaving no top personality at the station over at 101 Drew and Mike were starting to come into their own and was cleaning house one thing I always ...

Re: Hmmm,is the news drought at CBS62 about to come to an end?
From the article
This central set piece includes a curved side that blends well with both the current graphics package used across the CBS-owned stations and elements from the “deconstructed eye” framework that’s expected to be more widely rolled out across the group’s stations in the fall of 2022.
