TV20 is now "The Spot"
TV20 is now "The Spot"
WMYD TV 20 now branding as "The Spot."
Reworking their TOH ID, their Facebook https://www.facebook.com/TV20Detroit/
and website https://www.thespottv.com/detroit-20
Promoting upcoming broadcasts of Pistons games, and "Sports on The Spot," Monday & Wednesday 8-11p.
Maybe the "7 News on TV20" will go away or just be a sometimes thing.

Re: TV20 is now "The Spot"
Hoping YTTV will pick them up. Also, are they no longer on FRNDLY TV? When I clicked "Where to Watch" the only streaming service listed was Fubo. Apparently Suckeye Broadband still has them, but probably just for their few remaining Bedford subscribers.

It's showing up on my PC app for FRNDLY TV.80sTalkRadioFan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2026 8:01 am Hoping YTTV will pick them up. Also, are they no longer on FRNDLY TV? Re: TV20 is now "The Spot"
The Spot is the latest Scripps Local Media branding, available in 15 TV markets across the US.
"The Spot is your free, over-the-air television channel, with no subscription required. Tune in for local news, sports, community programming, and shows, all delivered for free via antenna and tailored to your market. Great local TV, right where you live."
The Detroit version still is promoting Circle 7 news at 7-9am and 10-11pm.

Ironic that quote comes from the channel that offered ONTV in the early 80s.
"Internet is no more like radio than intravenous feeding is like fine dining."

That's funny. Just put a "G" in the logo.

I think this is a good branding move. Antenna is back, more and more people are installing them and it's really cool
the fact that they are hosting local sports is even better

Re: TV20 is now "The Spot"
I just wish they had a slightly better name… The Spot Detroit is fine but having 20 at the end is kinda clunky.

Re: TV20 is now "The Spot"
There are multiple stations using "The Spot" branding. Detroit 20 is this particular "The Spot" station, so from that perspective it makes sense even if it reads a bit clunky.

Yeah I mean I certainly get the reasoning and I tinkered with it and tried to come up with a better order but nothing really works.Bull Shannon wrote: ↑Thu Jul 02, 2026 10:00 amThere are multiple stations using "The Spot" branding. Re: TV20 is now "The Spot"
I have the app on my Roku and TV 20 is still in their guide. YouTube and Hulu TV never had it, so I doubt that will change.80sTalkRadioFan wrote: ↑Tue Jun 30, 2026 8:01 am Hoping YTTV will pick them up. Also, are they no longer on FRNDLY TV?
