Re: Alex Trebek says his pancreatic cancer may mean the end of his time at 'Jeopardy!'

I'm not sure I agree it's sad news. He says he's ready to go. He's got a good spirit.
Sounds like he's made peace with God and himself.
Good news.

Re: Principal yells at student = slow news day

This is fake news. The fact channel 7 is even reporting on this "story" is shameful. Kim Russell is a hacky reporter, to say the least. 7 will report on this garbage, yet they won't report on Ford's production quality issues, hospital systems with major quality of care audit issues, or Ilitch's bro...

How about some new ideas instead of remaking shows?
There's a big draw in remaking shows.
Folks that liked it the first time tend to want to see it again.
Especially if the original cast can be talked into doing the show.

Re: And The Employee of the Month Is --

We have many people where I work that go buy their tools at Harbor Freight.
And when it breaks, they go to Stores (what we call the warehouse/tool crib) and swap it for a good quality tool.

Turkeytop's Opinion

So Turkey. Since you are a resident of our larger neighbor to the north, let me ask:
How many of your fellow Forest City compatriots are truly shocked and dismayed?
If you could survey your Comrades north of the 49th parallel, how many would say they could care less?

Re: Dead men tell no tales, even to journalists

There's a meme floating around Facebook that says something like:
"If you are ever interviewed by the press, have someone shoot video with their phone, because the News always twist what you said when they air it".

That's not the words in the meme, I paraphrased, but that's the gist of the meme.

Re: Most Dangerous Roads In Michigan

Genesee County doesn't give a hoot about their roads being salted and plowed in the winter either. Worst road commission in the state. I know some folks live in Flint Township. in the neighborhood off Otto. They told me they never see the township during the winter. I was trying to talk them into p...

Flying Beers Hamfest on September 22nd

I suppose Marketplace is about the best place to put this. I've never been to this, but I think I'll go this coming Sunday. The Flying Beers International Radio Club is having a hamfest in Ferndale on September 22nd. Cost for vendors is one six pack of Miller HighLife, or comparable beer. Sounds lik...

Re: Outa Here

If you go to Key West during Fantasy Fest, you'll go back... It's the most fun middle aged people can have. Period. Sloppy Joe's puts on a Put-In-Bay Festival for a few days in February that is a lot of fun. Many of the bands and people that spend the summer on Put in Bay will show up. See some old...

Re: Listening To Uncle Joe Win The Debate

There’s no “winner” here. The clowns simply trip over each other as they exit the clown car, throw pies at each other, and expect people to care. Amen. We are almost a year away from the party getting a candidate. I think it's funny to be debating over a year away from the election. You are right L...

Re: Straight Talk vs. Verizon

In my personal opinion, if you're not leaving Metro Detroit, or you will almost always be in a urban area, just go with the cheapest out there.
Straight Talk, Boost, Cricket, whatever.
If you often wander or live where not many folks are at, get Verizon or ATT&T.

Re: Most Dangerous Roads In Michigan

I've often pondered something about lane closures. What do you think about this? Instead of having two lanes merge into each other, make an "Exit Only Lane" at the last, or the next major exit before the merge would of been, where many cars get off anyway. Sign it up real good for a couple of miles ...

Re: WDIV delaying today's Tonight Show Episode.

I myself have always felt skip the news and go right into Fallon or Kimmel when a game runs really late. Anyone that's interested in news or sports has already switched over to a station that did it at 11. Truly feel the advertisers should know better than to think nearly as many people are watching...

Re: A thought on how to beat Trump

I read an appreciate all the replies. Like I said, no matter what the 2020 Democratic nominee says, he or she isn't going to lose the votes Clinton got in 2016. So why not like I said, go for the "low hanging fruit" on the other side? Tell Trumps fan base some stuff they want to hear. I really like ...
