Fox 2's Ryan Ermani is the CEO of his own fan club

This morning on the Nine they were discussing how they look now compared to years past. Ryan said: "I'm better looking now than I ever was" and "I'm exhausted with how good I look now compared to some of the pictures I've seen myself in". We were waiting for an "I'm just playing around" comment, but it never came. Does this guy ACTUALLY think he's hot?

Is the talent pool so shallow that the local morning news show has to trot out Ryan Ermani, Marielle Lue, and Derek Kreepvra? There’s GOT to be better hosts. Do they work for free? Is that why they’re there?

For a large market Detroit is lacking in talent generally. I feel like if you watch other top 20 markets the talent level elsewhere is higher.

Almost assuredly that’s because ad revenues here are smaller than elsewhere so compensation is inherently less. It was even that way when ABC sold 7 40 years ago. That actually was a big reason they kept WJR and let 7 go. It was underperforming compared to its peers in other markets revenue wise even then and grossly underperforming the other ABC stations.

At least he exhibits some personality. It's obvious he's not everyone's cup of tea, but I don't find him as annoying as most here do.

I'd rather have Ermani who grew up here and went to U of M than another transplant who always says that things are different where they're from and Metro Detroiters "hit different". He's so homegrown that he still hangs out with his high school coaches. (kind of weird if you ask me)

Marielle Lue often points out how she is not a Detroiter, how much she loves it anywhere but here and she uses Y'all wayy too often. However, even though Ermani is homegrown and calls himself a journalist, his political bias is a glaring example of everything a fair and balanced reporter shouldn't be. He's more like a MAGA mouthpiece.

However, even though Ermani is homegrown and calls himself a journalist, his political bias is a glaring example of everything a fair and balanced reporter shouldn't be. He's more like a MAGA mouthpiece.

But The Nine isn't a news program. It's talking heads sitting around laughing and talking.
Critiquing Ermanni or Lue for expressing their personal views is like saying the ladies on The View or the late night hosts shouldn't be allowed either.

Journalists historically didn’t run around trying to be objective and treat all viewpoints as valid no matter how absurd they are. That’s something quite new.

Never said it was a news program, but it also should be considered a no-politics zone. They need to stick to discussions like debating oat milk vs. almond and not their views on global government. Deena C. does a good job of staying neutral. Mgmt needs to monitor more closely.

Just reading about Ryan Ermani here makes me like him less than I already did. I don’t care where he’s from. He’s a loud obnoxious jerk and shouldn’t be on tv.

I think that Deena is a lot worse, and she reminded me of that yesterday. A soda (pop) machine was suggested to be in their office, and she looked disgusted that someone mentioned it. Later, someone mentioned Red Bull and 5 Hour Energy, and she said that she never had either, with an elitist tone. Health-conscious people who must constantly remind people that they are better than them are sad.

Riddle me this: WHY does Marielle Lue always salute every time she's introduced at the beginning of the program? Last I heard she was never a member of our cherished military, so in my opinion it's disrespectful and not appropriate for casual use by civilians.
