Yes, I'm aware of the stream issues. We've been dealing with the cable company at the WCXI tower site, and they're coming out tomorrow to look at it. For the time being, I had to take my 5G router from WCAR and get it on WCXI to keep us on the air. Hoping to get the cable network fixed and stable so WCAR's stream can come back online tomorrow at some point. I may also review options to get cable or fiber internet in Garden City as well, since we're working to fix up that site for regular use.

Re: WCXI Cool1160
Noticed this afternoon WCXI is a bit weak, seems like low power, like it is running night power in day pattern- is it just me or is the transmitter back at reduced daytime power?
Got another station (likely WYLL) cutting in on 1160 in Rochester/Troy/Auburn Hills area already and it's still daylight. In the car and using car radio it's weaker than usual.
Earlier was very weak on the AM/FM hearing protectors, almost unable to pick up whereas before it was quite easy.

Was it during critical hours?hb2 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 6:35 pm Noticed this afternoon WCXI is a bit weak, seems like low power, like it is running night power in day pattern- is it just me or is the transmitter back at reduced daytime power?

When I wrote that post(6:35 PM)- it was getting close to critical hours if not inside of them, but when I first noticed a change- it certainly was not (it was about 3:30 PM). WCXI according to their license has no 3rd critical hours mode- just Daytime 15 kilowatts 3 towers and nighttime 400 watts 2 towers. No special operating conditions certain months either according to their license (for the month of October their licensed "sunrise" or daytime switch time is 6:45 AM standard time, 7:45 DST, and the "sunset" time or power drop time is 6:00 PM standard time, 7:00 PM DST).MegaHertz wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 8:55 pmWas it during critical hours?hb2 wrote: ↑Wed Oct 07, 2026 6:35 pm Noticed this afternoon WCXI is a bit weak, seems like low power, like it is running night power in day pattern- is it just me or is the transmitter back at reduced daytime power?

Re: WCXI Cool1160
I noticed around 8:30 this morning it was either stuck in night pattern or not on at all, as WYLL was coming in. I was in Canton, where the night signal is pretty much non existent but day is good.
Re: WCXI Cool1160
This afternoon it seemed back to normal. I was farther away from the transmitter, and it was strong. Within the four o'clock hour just now.

Wow, Telegraph Road by Dire Straits is on 1090. Good track! Haven’t heard that in at least 25 years.
