Dobbs looked pretty damn good today.

He played mostly against 2nd stringers. One good game doesn’t mean much.

I'm trying to concoct a "Final 53" and am having a helluva time! I can only imagine what Campbell & Holmes are going through now. I suppose that's a "good" thing considering the fine performances of several "bubble" players yesterday.

I'm guessing Pacheco, Branch, and Joseph will be put on Reserve PUP or IR along with new center Mays. I originally thought Rakestraw was done in Detroit, but that diving interception and several good tackles he made following a very rough first quarter has me second-guessing myself!

I'm VERY intrigued by how the starting O-line will shake out. Will Scruggs start at C and Mahogany at LG? Converted guards Miller and Hartwig both played well at center yesterday despite a couple flubbed snaps.

With the relatively easy schedule they have, 9 wins is the floor. I'm going to say 12-5, 4-2 in the division.

FWIW, the O/U number of wins for the Lions in Vegas is 10.5.

Yes, I'm hearing the same thing, a "handshake agreement" with Dortch.
Keeping only four WRs while keeping five RBs doesn't make a whole lotta sense. I'm guessing injured RB Jabari Small or Sione Vaki will be trimmed somehow, though the latter is valued on special teams.

Old friend and standby Tom Kennedy was signed to the practice squad; he made a good impression as a return man and slot receiver last season. I have to imagine he's destined for a similar role...barring anything further in the surprise personnel department.

The Lions look pretty good in the trenches on both sides, but their secondary will be garbage. Lack of WR depth as has been mentioned.

If you guys are correct in your assessment of this talented team, despite the Lions' comparatively easy schedule, I may have to join you in the seemingly crowded SOL camp.

Fortunately, I see things a little clearer. I don't make predictions, but my only fear is that the team comes out sluggish in their first game as they did last season. Hopefully, training camp has got the starting crew primed for battle. Campbell has said that in practice they're "getting after it with violence and purpose".
