The analog processing on 104.3 has sounded surprisingly good over the past several days!
I hope it sticks around for good!
The analog processing on WCSX, meanwhile, sounds like trash.

Re: WOMC feels threatened by WNIC
Here is a list of 90s songs I made that I feel could fit with the rest of the 70s/80s playlist. The preview here only shows half the playlist, so needs to be opened on the spotify site

That's Joe Cip as station VO. Prod was very good.stopnswop2 wrote: ↑Tue Jan 14, 2025 5:03 pm I sat down on an old computer today to get some old photos off it and I found a random audio file called untitled2. Happens to be 2 hours of Dave Fuller's show from 2014.
Wow now THIS sounds like a radio station.
I'll make a scoped aircheck
I noticed that Production Vault Classic Hits has swapped out using Earl Mann as the sample voice for... Joe Cip. Joe is very good... but I prefer bigger VOs like Earl ... others in that class... Jeff Laurence, and of course Charlie Van Dyke. Yes, CVD sounding his age of late. Still... so identifiable. Esp for DET and CVD's history with CKLW.

I had no idea that was Joe Cipriano on that clip. I'm more familiar with his other voice (also used on WOMC for a time).

WOMC feels threatened by WNIC
I thought that was Steve (don't know his last name, can't be bothered to look it up) doing the VO then?
Edit: Steve Kamer was the fella’s name, I believe. Someone correct me if I’m wrong.

Re: WOMC feels threatened by WNIC
Way too many ballads on your list that won't fly in 2025. No Michael Bolton lol. The only one I would put is "How Can We Be Lovers?". It's upbeat and was a number 3 hit in 1990.
Also, as annoying as it is, Blaze of Glory was actually a number 1 hit and should be played

Re: WOMC feels threatened by WNIC
Steve Kamer was also the VO man for the final season of Judge Judy, after Jerry Bishop passed away. (Al Murdoch (Vancouver Canucks) is the current announcer for Judy Justice.)
As much as I would love a Classic Hits station with a bigger playlist, everything that was a hit then isn't a hit now. Westwood One and Local Radio Networks both still do a better job than WOMC of widening up their playlists a bit while not straying too far from the "safe base."
Here's a sample hour on LRN, which is used in Michigan on K107.3 (Flint) and 98.3 WLCS (Muskegon).
Journey - Wheel in the Sky
Proclaimers - I'm Gonna Be (500 Miles)
Bob Seger - Old Time Rock 'n' Roll
Expose - Seasons Change
Police - King of Pain
Rod Stewart - Tonight's the Night (Gonna Be Alright)
Huey Lewis & The News - Hip to Be Square
Toto - Africa
Kool & The Gang - Fresh
Jimmy Cliff - I Can See Clearly Now
Queen - Bohemian Rhapsody
Gloria Estefan - Anything for You
Fleetwood Mac - Hold Me
And this is Westwood One's, which is heard on 99.9 The Wave up north. It's a bit tighter but still better than OMC's.
Billy Idol - Mony Mony
Cyndi Lauper - True Colors
Bon Jovi - Livin' on a Prayer
Big Mountain - Baby I Love Your Way
Culture Club - Karma Chameleon
Bryan Adams - Run to You
Orleans - Still the One
INXS - Need You Tonight
Go-Go's - We Got the Beat
Olivia Newton-John - Magic

Re: WOMC feels threatened by WNIC
What about "You'll Be In My Heart" by Phil Collins?
Tight at the tail end of the 90s, that song just stormed in. I don't understand how it never hit number 1. You couldn't go anywhere for YEARS without hearing it at least once a day.
Pretty sure that's the definition of a classic hit

Re: WOMC feels threatened by WNIC
Again, the bulk of its airplay came from AC radio, the same as with other Disney soundtrack singles like "Beauty and the Beast" and "Colors of the Wind." It had IIRC a record-breaking run at #1 AC, but on CHR, it just barely scraped into the Top 40 in airplay. You're more likely to hear those songs on an Adult Standards or Breeze-style Soft AC station than anywhere else.
