To be honest it sounds like a hair brained scheme that nobody put any thought into as far as studying it and understanding the repercussions… they are gonna do it and expect it to magically work the way they think it will. The increased tax burden is another reason not to. So is the astronomical price tag and the shock to the system when produce rots in the fields and housing construction slows to a crawl and hotels don’t have maids and some home caregivers disappear. It is mind blowing how reactionary and poorly conceived it is. It’s about 8.5 million people they want to control alt delete from the workforce while doing those tariffs… you want to talk about inflation on top of inflation. Holy shit.

That was the year when there was an epidemic of mad cow disease and Canada was being blamed for it. When I told her Spam was made of pork, not beef it sent her into paroxysms of rage. Then, when I pointed out that the label on the can said "Product of USA" she became apoplectic. I thought I was going to jail.
