Yes, there is our justice system and speaking from personal experience it moves slower then a snail. 99 percent of the time it works as it should. I am not condoning what he did but as a girl dad I understand it very well. He should do life at least, not a big fan of the death penalty. It doesn't work the way it is supposed to. Sitting on death row for years at a time is ridiculous. Run through your appeals then byebye if you are sentenced to death.

You can't have proof when one of the parties has been brutally killed. Even if there is evidence, I doubt the court would all this as a defense. The only clear fact that exists is that the leader of a community's law enforcement has committed a capital crime. I suspect the trail will be held elsewhere in Kentucky.

Between my (2nd) wife and I, we have 5 daughters and 7 grand daughters (#8 due in Jan) As Zzand stated I may not condone the action but I understand it. That is assuming the rumored motivation is true. Heck I'd even donated $25 to his legal defense fund if he had one, assuming the rumored motivation is true.
I would also suggest, assuming the rumored motivation is true , a hung jury may be as likely as a guilty verdict on a homicide charge.

So we can execute someone without due process? If what has been suspected occurred, there are established laws in this nation. Let's hope they seek the death penalty for this sheriff who premeditated murder. Law enforcement must be held to the high standard of the law.

Given the reputation convicted assault perpetrators experience in prison, it would have been better to send him to jail.

Just so we're clear about where you stand the use of guns/weapons:

-Old lady seeking petition signatures - ok to shoot her in the back
-Reporters knocking on your door to ask questions - ok to hold a knife to their throat
-Terrorist paragliders - perfectly justified, so long as they're attacking israel
-Father killing a judge who was diddling his underage teenage daughter - should rot in prison

But you can have proof if she is indeed pregnant. DNA will point to him and she will make a very good witness to it all. I agree with Craig. A hung jury is a good possibility as parents will understand his state of mind.

I am beginning to think there was no daughter being molested by the judge. There was a sheriff deputy convicted of raping an inmate mulriple times in the judges chambers. And the sheriff being sued for not keeping his deputy under control. I am cancelling my check to the legal defense fund until further notice

Well that would make this much more likely to be homicide or murder, particularly if that was the motive and the father was just plain mistaken.

You can’t kill people over vendettas or disputes and say “but he deserved it!” as a defense. Our legal system isn’t set up like the Bible or the old west.

There is a very good discussion of this on GP. The town where this happened is very small, and everybody knows everybody else. Apparently, it was well known in the very small community that the judge was also molesting other underage girls, and some say, boys also. They previously felt powerless because of the system protecting the judge.

There were several people who were going to go over to the District Attorney's office today to make sworn statements to that effect. A DNA test would confirm if it was the judge's. They are very adamant that this is what happened.

One could also say, that if the system worked, the judge would be in prison, not murdered like this. Maybe in prison.

There are numerous movies and TV episodes that discuss backwards, backwoods "justice" in the "South". I'm surprised that no one has slandered the South about this. BTW, Kentucky was not a confederate state, so technically it is not in the South.

This is Second Degree at the worst. Consider if it was your daughter, or son, that was being molested.

If the sheriff's daughter was indeed raped by the judge, I would find the sheriff "not guilty" at trial if I served on the jury.

The defense, of course, would need to prove rape had occurred.

If this happened to others, and the authorities refused to do a rape test for fear of reprisal, they should have somehow collected and saved a DNA sample, as icky as the victims might find it, like Monica did, and wait until the judge was no longer in power.

So no response to Lester saying he doesn't care if people (especially politicians) duke it out with AK-47's in the street, but I simply say I won't lose any sleep over a a judge being shot over molesting children (again, IF that is what happened), and this is the hill you choose to die on. To use your favorite word, FASCINATING.
