Ron predicted that SF will win. whether Samuel plays or not. He is also already saying that the Packers will win the division next year.Majik wrote: ↑Sat Jan 27, 2024 7:02 pmI did not listen to this latest program. Met a long time friend for lunch and laughs at Duggan’s, so I missed the show. I am wondering what Ron’s take on the Lions was as far as the buzz that I am sure most of us can feel about this game. In my eyes, I don’t think this town has ever been this excited for any sporting event except maybe the 68 Tigers in the World Series. I can picture the old curmudgeon not sensing the high that seems to be building by the minute. Did he show any excitement about it?

Re: Ron Cameron
As I posted upthread long ago, there was once a Lions season - & it was not the 0-16 team - when Ron predicted a loss in advance of each & every game. Predictably, no love lost for yet another local team that doesn’t give him a press pass.

Granted, Ron's internet access is limited, but it might "frost him" to learn that an old nemesis Bill Keenist (who apparently denied Mr. Cameron Press Credentials for Lions games) "climbed the ladder" and is now working for the National FootballLeague: https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/loc ... lulu-blue/
Re: Ron Cameron
When I first started listening to Sports Talk with Ron Cameron, Starring Ron Cameron, Ron's public enemy number one, the prime recipient of his prodigious vitriol, was Bill "The Rat" Keenist. His career advancement should serve to fortify the likes of Ron Colangelo. You, too, can survive - & even prosper - in the face of constant attacks from the sports media colossus that is Ron Cameron.ShempLives wrote: ↑Sun Jan 28, 2024 5:52 pmGranted, Ron's internet access is limited, but it might "frost him" to learn that an old nemesis Bill Keenist (who apparently denied Mr. Cameron Press Credentials for Lions games) "climbed the ladder" and is now working for the National FootballLeague: https://www.clickondetroit.com/news/loc ... lulu-blue/

Re: Ron Cameron
Looking forward to a very special Groundhog Day edition of Ron's show. (If Ron didn't know when Memorial Day landed in the calendar year, what are the chances he knows when Groundhog Day is?)
What will the famously anti-multiple year contract Ron have to say about the extended contract for Colt Keith, who's yet to suit up in the big league? Did Scott Harris even bother to consult with Lance Parrish about this?
Whither Ron's prized plaque? Did a maid abscond with it? Or a bandit lift it from Ron?

Re: Ron Cameron
For Groundhog Day, Ron will stick his head outside of his luxurious motel room. If he sees the shadow of a new advertiser, his show will last at least six more weeks.Momo wrote: ↑Thu Feb 01, 2024 1:16 pmLooking forward to a very special Groundhog Day edition of Ron's show. How is Ron dealing with the news that Dan Dickerson will be on TV 20-30 times this season? (https://www.detroitnews.com/story/sport ... 415964007/) Will seeing Dickerson's face increase Ron's unhappiness with Dickerson?
Re: Ron Cameron
Read in today’s Detroit News that one of Ron’s past advertisers “Crave Hot Dogs & BBQ” in Canton is closed after opening in January 2023.
Obviously, the reach of SportsTalk didn’t capture enough of the general public. “This place is really something, you gotta go here…”

Re: Ron Cameron
Things to look forward to on the Groundhogs Day edition of The Ron Cameron Show starring Ron Cameron:
A) Ron patting himself on the back because he was right about the Lions/49'ers game.
B) How Sima is a great owner, but things have to change at the station...and now!
C) One man operation.
D) Nobody wants to work.
E) While sitting in his palatial hotel suite, watching 1957 color episodes of "What's My Line", and "To Tell The Truth", he got out his 1955 adding machine and started crunching numbers, and figured out that Jim Harbaugh owes him 20 dinners, not 10.
F) Tiger bashing.
G) How his doctor is a great man because he bought Ron dinner.
H) Ron's cell phone ringing.
I) How he umpired a Tigers game, and Al Kaline asking him..."What Are You Doing Here??"
J) If it wasn't for him, the 1961 Tigers would have finished in last place.
That...and a whole lot more...on The Ron Cameron Show starring Ron Cameron...on The Pontiac Blow Torch, The Big 1460...WPON.

Re: Ron Cameron
It's fitting Ron's show is airing on Groundhog Day. Unfortunately I won't be able to tune in so I will rely on this page for the thrilling updates!
