Re: Another leaving WXYZ
When did Kimberly Craig get let go from Channel 7? I noticed she hasn't been on TV and isn't listed on the website anymore. I thought she was one of their better field reporters (along with Heather Catallo and Ross Jones). She wasnt. She was promoted to a management role behind the scenes. Still at ...

Unpopular? Why? You are abs right. He was the best male anchor since Bonds. Id rank em: Bonds, Perkins, Scillian/Gordon.

Re: Devin Scillian
I know. Thats what I was basing it off of. That 205 is to start. Now. Could have been higher when he started years ago. He was there a few years, so with standard 5k increases, say was around 230-250. You dont move your family across the country from a powerhouse station for less money. And mornings ...

Re: Devin Scillian
He is most likely Devin's replacement. In the Detroit News article, he said Devin has been helpful in the "transition." Secondly, you don't leave a main anchor job at the #1 station in Sacramento, which pays about 250K (that station in particular), to do mornings in Detroit, which pays about 150K ...

Re: Fixing CBS Detroit
Middays isnt a promotion. Mornings and night are the top jobs. And yes, Ali is a great anchor, but she needs to address her look. The weird over-tanning and blond hair is bizarre.

Re: Reports That The FCC Has Approved Audacy Reorganization Are Premature.
How many more budget cuts, if any, can we expect from Exitcom as a result of this? Will budget cuts and layoffs be apart of their bankruptcy and reorganization? Is more syndication, national programming, and voice tracking possible? Will Doug Karsch become the new morning show host on WOMC, WYCD ...

No. They now need to keep costs low to prove a profit to the new owners, and make them money on their investment. They just covered a billion in debt. Like TV News, the future is less people, more taped programming, single hosts etc.

Re: CBS Detroit Swings the Axe
Lyons is a proven winner and already, the production is better. WWJ is going to turn it around! Dude.. the issue isnt the “production”. Its everything. They dont have a single strong reporter. They dont have a real set. It looks like a college newscast done from an auto body shop. Their main wea ...

Re: CBS Detroit Swings the Axe
Change is slow. People have contracts. Jen Lyons did make some good changes in Chicago. She brought in a strong lead male anchor and chief met. She got the new set and got CBS to invest in reopening the street-side studio.

I dont think ABC is buying any stations. Nobody has money right now. Everyone is cutting costs and dumping stations, not buying.

Re: Tom Jordan has left WJR
This is a guy (a nice guy) who was making 150K-200K as morning anchor at WWJ. And similar if not more at WJR. He joins a long list of people who threw away good paying top flight anchor jobs to go down rabbit holes. Mind boggling.

Re: CBS Detroit Swings the Axe
No disrespect to anyone at 7 (its not their fault). I think its more a corporate thing. Scripps has turned the station into a generic, vanilla and boring product. A decade or more ago, it had punch. High energy, good show opens, veteran reporters who broke stories etc. That could be said for all the ...

Re: Tom Jordan has left WJR
He did a podcast with Tudor Dixon the other day, in which he said WJR wants to abandon its right wing focus and reputation. Not a surprise, as they are at the bottom of the ratings. Not sure where they fit in in the landscape. Tom is a good guy, but sad to see him go down the rabbit hole.

Re: CBS Detroit Is Unwatchable
As for Devin.. A) why would he sully his reputation and long run, by ending his career in that dumpster fire. B) they cant afford him. He is likely making in the 500-800K range. The main job at 62 likely pays in the 200-250 range. Stations are cutting salaries.. not looking to bring on bloated ...

Re: WCBS to go all sports. WWJ next?
As others have stated, Audacy was supporting two identical stations, competing for market share. Thats not an issue here. Second, Audacy Detroit and WWJ make a lot of money. No need to mess with it. As for moving to talk. Absolutely not. WWJ doubles WJR in the ratings. They have no interest in doing ...
