Hello-
I'm not sure if this is the right spot to post, does anyone have a collection of old KHQ morning radio with the Captain? Does something like this exist or is it mostly lost to time? Thanks in advance.

There's a name I haven't heard in a while. Used to listen to him every morning on the way to school.

Same announcer (reel to reel tapes) from the early 1980's who also was on "ROCK 106" WIOG (Saginaw) until April of 1984!!

I just found this: https://youtu.be/XMOhWOygtIQ?si=jUK6iUm_4NU-501a
I have audio somewhere of the Captain, Bob White, and Tim Moore interviewing on KHQ on the 30th anniversary. If I can find it I'll pass it along.

I did some quick googling on the legality of sharing clips, even those from the 80s are copyrighted. However I read if it's less than a minute long, non-monetized, and for educational purposes it can qualify under fair use. Going to apologize up front as I'm serving this up from a link from my own site-- the other thing I'm apologizing for is the audio quality. Found this while going through some old cassettes and I thought it was cool (albeit dated). It's cool to hear his voice again.

Hope it brings back some memories.

And which of them involved are going to do the suing? This is such a unbeliveably big gray area I personally wouldnt worry about it. Go on YouTube. There are so many airhecks of talent, stations and jingles. And none of those people are getting hauled into court for posting a 50 year old aircheck of Big Ron O'Brien on Super CFL in Chicago.

The name was the late John Borders from Texas who passed away back in 2016 (associated with TM Productions/Stereo Rock and later his own Sunburst Media) & the overnight announcer on the reel-to-reel tapes at 10:00 PM till 6:00 AM in the early 1980s on 106 KHQ.
