WKRP in Cincinnati... is real

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

WKRP in Cincinnati... is real

Unread post by ChrisWL1980 »

At least on paper.
Randy Michaels acquired the call letters from an LPFM in North Carolina and has placed them on what was 97.7 WOXY (those heritage calls have moved to simulcast partner 94.5 in Dayton). Unlike on the show, no format change took place; the stations are retaining the "Oasis" Oldies/AC Gold format.

It's a goofy, unneeded move, in my opinion.

The irony is the "Cincinnati" part of the trimulcast - 97.7 - has very crappy reception in downtown Cincinnati. It can be heard better in Dayton, where 94.5 carries the exact same programming.
Buc-ee's sucks! Stay the hell away from my state.

Why go through the trouble of getting those call letters to lean into the nostalgia... about 40 years too late, then still call yourself that corny 'Oasis' name?

Only radio could screw that up. Clueless as ever.
