Thank you!

WSCR is coming to analog FM at long last!

A place to go for those of you who wish to discuss happenings in OH, IN, IL, WI, and Ontario. OSU sucks, by the way.

Sayonara to 104.3 Jams!

It becomes 104.3 The Score on February 2. :)

B96 will be making some programming adjustments in an effort to keep 104.3 Jams' listeners within the cluster.

Very wise move. I'm surprised it took them so long.

Too bad the Score sucks now and has sucked for about 10 years, although I'm sure they're getting a boost from this Bears season. But yeah, it's way overdue.

This is good for both stations...allows B96 to dig deeper into the library to bring back their original vibe and allows WSCR a FM signal. The bigger question IMHO is what becomes of the WBMX calls.... Do they move to 96.3? BBM-FM HD1 to 105.9?

I agree completely.

I think the WBMX calls might move to 96.3 and the WBBM-FM calls might move to 105.9.

It's also possible the WBMX calls will be returned to Mix 104.1 in Boston (currently WWBX).

The third possibility is 96.3 remains WBBM-FM, 105.9 (stupidly) remains WCFS-FM, and the WBMX-FM calls either get dropped altogether or "parked" on a throwaway AM signal in some distant city.

It wouldnt surprise me if they met in the middle and put the WBMX call letters on CFS'...also another possibility.

From a ratings standpoint, it doesn't really matter where the call letters land since it's a PPM market. It would make some sense to move WBMX to 96.3 and WBBM-FM to 105.9 for branding purposes (B96 is known as B96 while 105.9 is known as WBBM) but it's more of an "inside baseball" move more than anything.

You can visit Pity City, but you can't live there

Chicago did have the short lived 87.7 The Game in 2014 but that was poorly done by WGN with the trite old WFAN "have a non-sports show in the morning" formula with Jonathon Brandmeier who was way past his prime by then. Only lasted nine months. The poor hosts found out live on the air on Twitter that the station was being shut down.

From Radio Insight

When Audacy flips Rhythmic Throwbacks “104.3 Jams” WBMX Chicago to a simulcast of Sports “670 The Score” WSCR on February 2, its WBMX call letters will return to its former home in Boston on Hot AC “Mix 104.1” WWBX.

I was in Chicago the past couple of days. There's absolutely no mention of 670, just 104.3, just like WBBM ignores 780.

Yeah, watching Cubs games this season I've likewise noticed the Score logo painted outside the radio booth at Wrigley shows only 104.3.
