Detroit Tigers radio

Unread post by fairbankshockeypuck »

When I play Alexa for 97.1, the broadcasts for Tigers baseball sounds good...In Detroit last weekend and 97.1 radio sounded good...but here in mid-Michigan the 790 WSGW-Saginaw and even 104.9 WQBX Alma-St Louis sound over modulated..even compressed and distorted..

I noticed a little bit of that on 1050 WTKA Ann Arbor as well, though it's a bit harder to tell on AM versus a good FM signal. Maybe it's something in the Tigers radio satellite transmission. As you said, 97.1 is good, even on smart speakers.

WTKA is a few seconds ahead of 97.1, that is more noticeable.

I was disappointed that the Pistons were on 950 tonight.

Playoff basketball should take priority on FM.

It's based on the contracts. Lions are top priority. Apparently Tigers are second, the Wings third, and Pistons last. Playoffs don't matter.

WTKA is severely over modulated 24/7.
Trump is too stupid to know what "reciprocal" means.

That's how I would rate fan interest in the pro teams as well, with the Wings and Pistons being interchangeable.

Side note: I don’t know if it was the ghost of Jim Price, but I heard a chuckle(almost a cackle) from the booth when Dickerson was excitedly calling the one home run.
They/them, non-binary and proud.

NEVER EVER COMPLY WITH FASCISM!!!

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.

Dickerson having an orgasm when talking about Baez reminds me of the last two seasons. One catch does not make a great player. How long before Dickerson advocates for him being comeback player of the year?

I would only think of the ghost of Price if Dickerson or Scales called that home run with a mouth full of hot dogs.

Pistons will be on WWJ again Sunday. Clearly the Tigers have priority per the contracts.

The other option would be 98.7, which is where they are sent when three teams are playing at the same time.
