WWJ Radio Opening
It seemed like I hadn't heard Jonathan Carlson in the mornings for quite awhile, and on air nobody was saying they were "in for" him. Radioinsight.com says that WWJ has an opening for a full-time morning anchor. Any idea where Carlson is going next?
Re: WWJ Radio Opening
I was thinking the same thing. He's fun to listen to but an Internet search turns up nothing. I miss Ed Coury bringing the business news too.

Starting pay 32K, probably.

Chris Villar handled mornings today. I thought he did a very good job.
Greg Bowman is handling the midday shift right now.

It seems like both morning newscasters are gone. We used to have great radio news in Detroit.

Ed Coury's Facebook profile describes himself as "former" Bloomberg News reporter, ending in 2024.

Someone should tell Guy Gordon there's an opening!

I heard Villar this morning and thought the same thing. He sounded smooth and competent.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 10:01 am Chris Villar handled mornings today. I thought he did a very good job.
WWJ doesn't list staff on its website anymore, so without any confirmation from the station, it's impossible to determine whether Carlson, Jackie Paige or both have officially departed. And no offense to Villar, but it just seems odd that WWJ/Audacy would hand over morning drive, its most important daypart, to a converted sports talker on such short notice. If this is a permanent move for Villar, it will create a ripple effect to 97.1 since Villar was doing the top-of-hour updates there and the :23-:53 sports reports on WWJ. Dustin Fiocco (sp?) was handling that task today.

Tracy McCaskill needs to be the next to go. Her voice and inflections are so annoying, especially the squeaky part.

Chris Fillar is a good high school friend of mine way back when. Good radio voice and loves what he does.

Re: WWJ Radio Opening
Jackie Paige is still listed on their website. Why would you say that? WWJ has a problem with promoting good talent. If you have no idea who the main anchor is, they’re in trouble. That’s pathetic.
Re: WWJ Radio Opening
Just now, I see in the "Schedule" section of their website that Paige is on the air this morning (with no mention of Carlson); that was not the case yesterday.ProducerXM wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 11:24 pm Jackie Paige is still listed on their website. But there no longer is a section on their website where they have things like staff bios, contact information, etc. The "contact us" page only provides info for Debbie Kenyon, Rob Davidek and sales. If you saw Paige's name elsewhere, I'd like to know where you saw it.

Tracy McKaskill could definitely use a voice coach.
