WXYT HD signals gone

Unread post by Rich S »

Been meaning to post this for a while. Looks like WXYT shut off all the HD signals including HD1. HD2 was WWJ, HD3 was WXYT AM. Must have been related to cost cuts at Audacy? Noticed they have been off since at least early March. I enjoyed listening to WWJ HD2. I don’t have one of those newer cars or a GM model that lets you mix satellite, FM, AM on the same preset banks.

Scratch what I posted! Signals are back all the sudden. Sorry for the double post!

97.1 has been having technical issues on and off for the past few months.

Meanwhile, 106.7 WLLZ has re-added HD2 and HD3 signals. Looks like HD2 is '80s and HD3 is '90s. Wouldn't those be better paired with WNIC?

Interesting. I might have to give the 90s programming a try.

Just a clarification, these are '80s and '90s CHR/pop hits channels, not rock. I heard "Waterfalls" followed by "The World I Know" on HD3 last night.

I checked out both channels a bit. They're not worth my time. Poor audio quality, annoying stopsets (complete with numerous podcast plugs and lame "artist spotlight" segments), and in the case of the 90s channel, not a particularly enthralling playlist.

I'll stick with SXM's 90's on 9 to get my fix of popular hits from that era.
