Unread post by Realist »

I almost figured this happened this morning when Matt continued past 10 and there was no mention of Breck. She was laid off;

Duffy is voice tracked from out of state as he’s the PD of 979X in Wilkes Barre, PA

That’s too bad. Stan’s always presented a professional sounding broadcast, and it was enjoyable listening to, even if the music was a bit obvious, as Classic Rock is by definition.

His listing on the Wheelz site, only found through a web search of his name since he’s not listed on the site itself, has the bio removed, a plug for Rdio, then the phrase: “File under: Uncategorized”.

A fairly apt phrase for the disemployed of the broadcast field.

So let's review... The cut backs started with Johnny Burke on WHNN back in 2015. Then the B.S reason to let Joe Volk go over at WKQZ and now a very merry Christmas to Stan.

My opinion is they should of paid off the young woman and kept the money train alive, considering Joe was selling over a million in advertising dollars. Oh and just maybe could of afforded Stans Salary.

Well, perhaps if he had died and were a musician, he’d have earned more respect. Boo who?

You do realize that this wasn’t the first sexual harassment claim against Volk? Had happened before there. He became a liability. I talked to a couple of people who worked there at the time who said his firing was long overdue.

And if he was so damn good, another station group in the area would have picked him up. Never happened, instead he’s selling ticket packages to Loons games.

If so, I’m sure it expired after 6-12 months, Someone could have picked him up then…
