I'm a big fan of Frankie Valli and his music despite not being alive during most of his peak years, but watching this video has me thinking he is either being held up there against his will, is not entirely aware of where he is, or both. This is elder abuse.

I wouldn't know about any of that, but lip-synching should be outlawed at live shows.

I saw his show last year at Interlochen. It was completely sold out. The audience was mainly older, but even the younger people enjoyed it. I did not notice the issues people are now referring to last year.
Most people don't realize what a huqe influence the group and associated acts have had on the industry. The critics almost always compared them unfavorably to other groups like The Beach Boys. Rolling Stone has always conspicuously left them off of almost all their "lists". Brian Wilson has had serious problems and issues since the 1960s and hasn't performed much, but nobody attacks him.

Valli is / was a great talent, but he's not doing these shows for free...
I had read an article on this topic about a month ago and surmised that he is now doing nothing to protect or extend his legacy. It's time for him to give up even pretending the mic is live. Stick to the studio, if you must.
