Elect Trump and Say Goodbye to NOAA

Unread post by MotorCityRadioFreak »

Yes, Project 2025 would disband NOAA because it is too woke and sold out to climate change.

You can download the software to run the models, like my co-worker did.

There is plenty of private meteorologists that provide forecasts, some of them even chase the storms in real time.

As long as the radar sites are maintained, I think we would be ok.

Even Tropicaltidbits.com is better now for hurricanes tracks.
Psalm 139:13 ~ For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.

Jeremiah 1:5 ~ "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you;

NOAA has become bloated like many other federal agencies. At least HALF their budget really should come from the states so they have to justify their existence every budget cycle.

Maybe so but getting rid of it entirely isn’t the answer. That never works. The private sector isn’t a charity… they aren’t gonna give you the same information out of the goodness of their hearts.

I love how tRumpanzees are so concerned about budgets when it comes to science and education, but don't bat an eye when tRump spends hundreds of millions of dollars on secret service staff staying at Mar-a-Lago when he wants to golf!

Tropical Tidbits gets most forecast models (except other countries’ models) from NOAA.

Losing that data would cripple all the progress that we’ve made in weather forecasting. Radar and AWOS/ASOS data can only go so far.

Living in the sticks, you should have understanding how important NOAA is to small farmers. Privatizing would essentially be a new tax.

Unfortunately, this is likely to be an accurate prediction due to Herr Musk.

Wow. What a bunch of chicken littles. NOAA gets rid of less than 7% of it's workforce and the sky is going to fall.

So I expect that when the first round of cuts is done and a few percent is gone from each department Musk and DOGE will shut down and be gone? Just like that? Poof?

Or will those cuts continue until we are talking about 40 or 50 or 60%?
