Jeanna Trotman out at 7

Unread post by TRTV »

Jeanna Trotman just announced via social media that September 6 will be her last day at WXYZ. Was this due to a contract not being renewed? Was she let go? What happened? Is 7 moving to only 1 sports person like CBS Detroit?

Wouldn’t be surprised to see Ryan Slocum show up on WXYZ. He’s out of a job and they need somebody.
Best of luck to Jeanna. I have been a fan of hers since her days at WEYI. Always seemed like a hard worker.

I'm guessing that they threw her ratings in her face and said that sports news didn't improve with her on TV. People have left channel 7 in droves the past 5 years. She announced this on X pka Twitter and it seems like many people are stalkers. "I'll follow you wherever you go", "I'll be watching you wherever you go", etc. :lol So many hotties have left local Detroit news and I forget about them a week later.

Given all the cuts and people quitting what does their news lineup look like now? Who even works at Seven News Detroit anymore? Given how Scripps has gutted Seven News Detroit why not just do what CW50 did and air an out of market newscast. I'm being sarcastic of course, but it really seems like Scripps has just cut everyone or let them all walk.

They'll undoubtedly find someone from one of their other stations who wants to move up. I wasn't a big fan of her so I don't see this as a H*** loss. As an aside with a retired NHL player for a husband I don't exactly get both how much she would need and what the terms could possibly have been that would make her give it up... maybe they are hurting for money or something... but if I landed a six figure job (I mean its gotta be six figures right?) I'd sign on the line that is dotted without asking very many questions.
