Definitely can't knock the voice, haha. He's a good guy, too, always really responsive and friendly on social media from what I've seen. I quoted him on X, saying I was glad he was still reporting in Detroit, and he replied to me, "Me too!!! Such a great town, great people."

Is he gonna go out and report or be doing something in the studio? I agree he’s a good hire… it’s too bad the TV stations can’t present the news in the depth that WWJ does. They talk about things concisely and go over stories people actually care about.

Total guess but I'd imagine he'll be a reporter, not in the studio. That would allow him to do what he did for WDIV for all those years.

Maybe they can ditch Charlie Langton and replace him with Pamplin. That would be a good move.

Tim seems like a good addition to WWJ. WDIV really axed alot of nice folks. I hope Tim takes some American english broadcast lessons so we can understand him better.

I'm pleasantly surprised they had the Audacity to spend money and hire a live and local talent like Tim for WWJ. I know David Field has a fetish for firing local talent, voicetracking and syndicated programing, so I'm surprised a cheapskate like Field would allow for such a hire to be approved for a quality talent like Pamplin. I guess you can't voicetrack news/weather/traffic radio, otherwise I'm sure a skinflint like Field would do it.

They do voicetrack overnight traffic, at least they did last time I tuned in. It was all construction projects. They dumped the KCBS anchors.
