WILX new subchannels

WILX is adding Circle and Ion to existing Antenna TV and Heroes and Icons by January 1.

Piquing my interest slightly is the move of Antenna TV to .5. Do they have cable coverage of the current .3? (I get them only OTA, in eastern Kent county, so no neighbors receive them on cable at all.):

Here's our line up complete with sub channels:
WILX 10.1
Heroes and Icons 10.2
Circle 10.3
Ion 10.4
Antenna TV 10.5

These changes become effective on January 1, 2020.

They do. 10.3 is carried on ch. 295 on Comcast. WOW and Charter/Spectrum also carry it. So the new Circle network is gonna have cable coverage from the jump while Antenna may be OTA only for a while.

Is ION in high-definition?

In any event, it's good to hear that ION is once again available in the Lansing area over-the-air. (I presume WZPX is now difficult to pick up off-air in the Lansing area following its move to extreme western Barry County.)

Ion is 480 on WILX.

I can still get WZPX over the air from the northside of Lansing sitting on the new 48 dBu line. However, WILX will more than cover any lost areas.

Color bars are up on 10.6 as of earlier this week. PSIP says it'll be the Justice network, which was on 53.3 before the channel share.

ION was 480i on WLNS as well. Likely to save on bandwidth.

Does anyone know when Antenna TV will be added to the Comcast lineup?

WILX is now using WLNM as a repeater to improve reception in Lansing and Clinton County. They have also added an additional TCT subchannel (10.7, 27.7). Unsure if they have increased power to 15kW. They have an application to move it to channel 29 with non-directional antenna.

As more people cut the cord it will be interesting to see if WILX decides to invest in a repeater south of Jackson to gain over the air coverage in Hillsdale County which is part of their official coverage area, but mostly only watchable with cable or satellite. WLNS Also does not cover that area and could use a repeater there if over the air reception is worth the cost for the number of viewers.
