Is it worth rebuilding on that site?

Has anyone seen someone that doesn't look exactly like Michael Stevens doing Brewvine weather duties since Friday?

The two-anchor evening newscast appears to be a thing of the past. Sadly, so does the superior lighting / production quality of the Caddy studios in whatever venue they are doing them from now... yikes!

That would be right out of The Twilight Zone. :lol

Is the plan to make this a permanent or temporary arrangement? If they sell the building will the station be leasing space?
They already have space in Traverse City. They might need more.
Mr. King said programming will be directed from Cadillac because of people living there, I'm assuming that pertains to control room personnel. If the mausoleum is to be sold, then what's the subsequent arrangement?
They're going to work from home :rollin

Sell. Clearly they are in over their heads. Gary Knapp did it better when he put a station in his basement and it became the Fox Affiliate.

And was also able to get decently widespread cable carriage at sign-on!

As I recall, the head end for the cable systems that served much of Lower Michigan for WKBD Channel 50 was on the tower near Holly Rd. and I-75, about 100 feet above the ground on one of the highest points in Southeast Michigan. Surprisingly, this is just 23.6 miles from the WKBD tower. From there, microwave links took it to almost all of the Lower Peninsula and the Eastern UP. That is probably how Channel 33 got its programming and news from WKBD Channel 50 in the early days.

I always thought it was interesting how Gary Knapp the Ch 33 tower in Cadillac, yet set the Ch 45 tower in Vanderbilt. Then I think there were half-dozen or so translators at one point, yes?

I recall in Cheboygan occasionally picking up Ch. 54 from Pickford translator if the weather was 'just right.'

I do have 9 & 10 in Sanford, MI but NOT 7 & 4 OR 29 & 8 from where I live. I guess that I have to stay in Clare, MI or Harrison, MI for the other 2 channels!!

It was so raw and unpolished that it was amusing.

I will say picture quality during network programming was surprisingly good.

Phenomenal reception at Lake Mitchell in the analog era. Terrible reception anywhere north of Wexford County based on my experience.
I remember my great-grandma having to tune her antenna just right to get Fox 33 in their early days. She was located about five miles SE of Onekama in Manistee County. Luckily for her, the rotor broke when it was aimed ESE toward Fox 33, which would get her 7&4, 9&10, 29&8, and CMU (WCMV) strong, as well as 26 and 38 from Green Bay off the back. WCMW was iffy there, and surprisingly the Green Bay VHFs were rare from my experience.

In less than five years, Fox 33 went from a brand new station to being ahead of 29&8 in parts of northern Michigan!

I overheard the Ops Manager discuss the plan. We’re keeping the 12/13 garages we have on the property and moving all the tech equipment there. Apparently this all to sell the business as we’re bleeding money.
