Mariota has always been a decent backup. I would mind him on the Lions over Josh Dobbs.

Mariota is backing up Jayden Daniels who's still working on his rookie contract, not Jared Goff and his $37+ million 2026 salary cap hit. The combined annual salaries of Daniels and Mariota probably don't come anywhere close to Goff's. Dobbs is probably making about $1 million.

After the Broncos were shut out in the first half, a bonehead Rams penalty and a revitalized Broncos offense has the game tied at 16 late in the third!

Wow, after the Rams' DeVontae Adams breaks off a 48 yard reception from deep in their end, the Broncos pick off Stafford for a hu-ge pick-six the other way! Broncos up 23-19 late in the fourth.

Bears 27, Eagles 7. Case Keenum started for Chicago, throwing for 247 yards and two TDs. Chicago also had 128 yards rushing.

Chicago's next four games are : Jets, at Packers, at Falcons and Patriots.

I'm watching the replay. I feel sorry for Philly's backup QB Andy Dalton. Hurts goes out for one play after getting his bell rung on a hard hit, but they're down near the goalline. Dalton on his only play throws a pick in the end zone, right into the hands of the defender he obviously didn't see or wasn't prepared for while staring down his crossing receiver. :? I'm thinking the Eagles should probably have run it there, or Coach Siriani should have called a timeout. Hurts was understandably miffed having to sit out the play.

Bears defense was well-prepared, sniffing out all the Eagles tendencies. Old man QB3 Case Keenum ran the offense very well. Ex-Lion WR Kalif Raymond looked like Amon-Ra St. Brown out there on crossing routes.
Eagles defense allowing that first TD from about the five displayed some pathetic tackling. :rolleyes

Bears vs. Jets next week, a face-off between the first two limbs off the Dan Campbell coaching tree. :hat

Over in London, Marcus Mariota went down and out in the first quarter with a knee. Third-string seventh-round rookie with a name I can't rightly pronounce much less spell is in at QB for the Redsk--, uh, Commanders. Colts up 30-13 late in the fourth.

Following on my phone, Johnson's Bears are making mincemeat of Glenn's Jets on both sides of the ball. Last I looked, Geno Smith had a whopping eight yards passing in the third quarter! :? Bears have sextupled the Jets in total yards. Yet, it's still only 13-6! :shock:

Geno looking like the scrub he is against the Bears highlights how awful the Lions’s D is.

Sports radio is speculating Harbaugh could be out of San Diego, er I mean Los Angeles by the bye week. They look awful overall.

I am thinking of just using Sundays for reading. Because between my NFL picks, the Texans(my favorite team) and the Liedowns, there is nothing redeeming about the NFL for me right now.
