LOL what a joke this application is.
If the FCC doesn't think WNIC's IBOC will not annihilate nearly every inch of this... or this cause issues vice versa... ... ... and lets it slide and get built..... then I guess the FCC has forgotten what interference is and the concept of IBOC and its sidebands.
It would be wiser of the applicant to pick a weaker frequency like 95.1 with a heavy null blocking out Canada, and not on a first adjacent channel of a station that is actively using IBOC.
NOT 96.7 or 93.9, 88.7, 95.9 which are Canadian stations that would certainly blow away anything on this side with such proxility. Add 102.3 as well in the immediate Detroit vicinity.
If the FCC starts letting stuff like this get built then let's just fill up every frequency 88.1 through 107.9, first adjacent or not and see how bad the interference is then. (That would be the absolute certain death to the FM band if it happened simply due to the interference)

That’s just as stupid as Smile FM wanting to put a 50kw FM on 90.1 from Riverview back a few years ago not considering the interference it would have created with CBE 89.9, dumb ideas.
