It's like starting up a Rolls Royce every 6 months for 10 years...

WLDR arguably has the signal with the most revenue potential of any TC station.

Values for radio stations are going to keep sinking lower, and lower, and lower.

Should've been sold years ago.

It also shouldn't have been purchased for $3.25 million either...

That 3.25 million dollar purchase is back to running a low powered open carrier.

If Roy has invested that $3.25 million in a dow index fund, even without rolling over the annual gain, he would have $22,350,000 today. Ouch...

He could have bought a New York station...

Today is the first time I've been able to log into the board in several weeks.

I have noticed some things in regards to silent stations in northern Michigan:
- 92.3 WBNZ and 99.3 WLLS are running open carriers with RDS at (likely) close to full power.
- 98.7 WLDN (not owned by Henderson, but its owners are only slightly more competent) has been silent the last three times I've been through the Ludington/Manistee area.
- The 92.7 translator in Ludington (W224CA), which had been rebroadcasting 1450 WKLA, is now rebroadcasting 97.7 WMLQ, still branded as "News 97 and 98". W224CA is not tied to WKLA and that translator was used many years ago to boost WWKR's signal in Ludington before switching to rebroadcast WKLA (AM) when AM-to-FM translators were first allowed.
- The other translator in Ludington (106.3 W292FE) is still rebroadcasting 1450 WKLA. It made zero sense for 92.7 and 106.3 to both be simulcasting the same AM considering the two translators share a tower site.
- It appears that 94.9 WKZC is actually running full power or close to it, even though it's at best the third most popular country station in the Ludington/Manistee area.
- The 91.5 satellator in Manistee has been off for months now, allowing for WICA to come in clearly on said frequency.

https://northpine.com/2026/03/19/midwes ... ntral-wis/ - If the FCC grants a waiver for Midwest Communications to buy NRG's Wausau and Rhinelander stations, surely Midwestern, Black Diamond, or MacDonald-Garber should be able to buy the Henderson stations as a group.

If the waiver in Wisconsin were to go through, Midwest Communications would own in Wausau/Stevens Point/Marshfield:
- 94.7 WOZZ Mosinee (rock)
- 95.5 WIFC Wausau (CHR)
- 96.7 WHTQ Whiting (CHR)
- 99.9 WSAU Rudolph (news/talk)
- 101.9 WDEZ Wausau (country)
- 103.3 WGLX Wisconsin Rapids (classic rock)
- 106.5 WYTE Marshfield (country)
- 107.9 WBCV Wausau (classic hits)
- 550 WSAU Wausau (news/talk)
- 1390 WRIG Schofield (sports)

The only facility that might be worth anything is 101.9.

I doubt he would sell at the current value.

Ever meet someone who hoards cars because "he knows what he's got?" That's Roy Henderson and radio stations.

I'm reviving an old thread, after seeing that today FCC License Cancellations were filed for both 92.3 WBNZ and 99.3 WLLS.

Both forms were signed by Roy E. Henderson, President, dated 9/1/2026. I'm unsure if that's indeed the longtime owner Roy, or the adult son Roy Henderson II (goes by name of Ward Henderson) that was noted in the late 2024 communication with the FCC regarding the younger helping manage the stations during the ongoing serious health issues of the older Roy.

No filings regarding 101.9 WLDR have been made during 2025 nor 2026 that I'm finding.

Take care, Statmanmi

Huh,

There were some really tax opportunities if he had donated the stations. Several suitors.
