Apart from the scorching heat for the work week, there is a chance of a couple bouts of severe weather in our part of the country July 4 weekend.
Early discussions I’ve seen involve the kind of thing that creates a fairly long lived MCS or Derecho.

I agree that it's a possibility based on the macro weather pattern. Placement is virtually impossible to predict at this point. If I were a betting man, I'd say Minnesota probably is one of the more probable locations for such a system to form this coming week. Regardless of where it forms, the big question is then if it moves due east or takes a southward dive at some point.

It's supposed to snow in western Montana on Tuesday. Absolutely wild pattern.

I sure wish I could get up to Whitefish Point this week. They will be in the 60s all week.

Not that I am hoping for any of this bullshit, but we are moving into full El Nino any day now.
Missed on the hundred mark but did pretty damn good. Plus, I believe we hit 98 several times.

There’s hope for Matt yet. AccuWeather and the Weather Channel are calling for 91 or 92 Monday next week. There’s also another swamp butt day being Sunday at 88. We are seeing El Niño spread her wings.

We've reached the point in the year where I start getting bummed, knowing that I only have a handful of days left where I don't chatter my teeth when I go outside. Before you know it, I'll be begging for 60. Then 50. Then 40. Then just 32. Get me to 32. Makes me sad.

Yeah but predictions are for a Super El Nino this year. We could have a significantly above-average temperature winter.

My predictions are for a warm winter, but I also think we will see a lot of snow as the colder weather will still fluctuate back to 30-35. People forget how much snow we have gotten in March before. Lots of 40 degree days and nights near 30. Still enough time to foster some decent storms.

The morons at AccuWeather yesterday were calling for a Wednesday high of 96 in Detroit (per 950 WWJ).

I think the people at AccuWeather are bigger clowns than at the NWS, although the margin is narrow.

I'll offer my forecast thoughts for the coming week early this afternoon.

The other morons want 91 Tuesday and 93 Wednesday.

Low 90s are within the realm of reasonable possibility.

I could buy a 90 this week.

Enjoy the warm. We're on the downward spiral towards 15 mph on the freeway and closinga every other day.
