So, that means LAV is without a PD yet again, correct?

Didn't he also program some other stations of theirs locally?

Do you need a PD for LAV at this point? They're running the same library they've run for the past decade. They're probably still reusing Rob Brandt's logs. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Lass was Assistant PD of WHTS and WKLQ in addition to doing p.m. drive at WLAV, per the following info from Radio Insight:

"Jordan Lass exits his roles as APD of CHR “105.3 Hot-FM” WHTS-FM and AAA “94.5 The Q” WKLQ and afternoon host at Classic Rock 96.9 WLAV Grand Rapids. Lass previously was Brand Manager and afternoon host at Midwest Communications Hot AC “Hits 96.5” WZOX Kalamazoo until exiting last October. He joined Midwest Kalamazoo in March 2020 first as morning show producer and midday host at Country “Win 98.5” WNWN and rose to APD/afternoon host until his move to WZOX when it launched in March 2021. He then became Brand Manager there from September 2021 until his exit."

I read a different report: "Jodon Lass gets kicked in the as* by Cume-U-Less. decides that paying one guy to do three jobs is still too expensive when you can just have an automated hard drive play classic rock tracks to empty air. Mary Berner repeats her line from a decade ago when she got hired. "Don't worry. We're not looking to fire anyone. We're looking to hire. Rah! Rah! Bring your popcorn and pompoms to our next Zoom video conference across the country! Its mandatory or your fired!

Now I seriously wonder if 105.3 will be flipped, even though their ratings arent public, theyve been on a downward spiral for the past year and a half.

Doubtful. Cumulus is more likely to sell something than flip something locally.

For such a crappy signal, 105.3's ratings aren't that bad. They only look bad because 104.5 with a similarly crappy signal earns much better numbers.

The only flip I could see Cumulus doing short term would be flipping 1340/106.1 to a simulcast of Hot FM.

Michelle McCormick will leave WLAV on August 28. It's interesting she gets two more weeks, because usually Cumulus is known for cutting people with immediate effect and not allowing them to explain their departures.

Gawd, might we be hearing Bob & Tom on WLAV soon?

Incredibly stupid move on the part of Cumulus.

Another possibility - syndication of the Steve Gorman hosted morning show based at KQRS.

Rob Brandt also lost his weekday voice tracking gig on Detroit's WLLZ this week.

Fuck iHeart.

Fuck Cumulus.

Agreed. The Bob and Tom show is petty boring and flat. I rather see the Steve Gorman hosted morning show that is if they decide to go syndicated.

What a garbage playlist...

Not one but two Journey songs about 75 minutes apart.

Travis Gibbs evidently is still with the station and now occupies the afternoon shift previously handled by Jordan Lass.

How about rehiring Rob Brandt to fill the morning vacancy?

As of this typing, the last hour featured Bon Jovi, Elton John, Foreigner, Styx, Nazareth, Queen, Supertramp, Boston, Pink Floyd, Billy Squier...

I've been saying for a long time that their playlist is garbage. It hasn't evolved in 30 years. There is no way they are drawing good ratings outside of a few Boomers.
