Detroit Talk City on Fox 2

Post by Casey »

Looks like Judge Judy has been replaced by Charlie Langton at 4pm - 5pm on Fox 2. Detroit Talk City is a new show hosted by Charlie Langton premiered today on Fox 2 and Fox Local.

Charlie is one of, if not the most popular and well known personalities in the market. Also the nicest guy. Well deserved. And a great fit. People LOVE him.

I think if I did the math right this brings them up to 13 hours live* and local each weekday (given there is no special network programming on Fox, and not counting any news reruns).

Did you include 10pm - 11:30pm I get 14 and a half hours a day.

Wait until they give Maurielle Lue a talk show to replace the cancelled Sherri at 1 pm weekdays, now that would be something. It could be called “The Detroit Diva Show” Stay tuned, fall is around the corner.

I looked at the overnight program guide and did not count that at 3AM they rerun the 10PM newscast before going live at 4AM. I also did not count a 30 minute program at 2AM which had no program details, I was unsure if it was live. The 13 hours was me counting live hours a day, not reruns or possibly taped segments

Edit: yes my original 13 hours count was counting 10-11:30 PM but I was thinking it went to 12AM.

You have 9 hours 4am -1pm, 4 hours 4pm - 8pm and 1 and half hours 10pm - 11:30pm that's 14 and a half of live programing.

You're right, sorry for my confusion, I am thinking of the past when they didn't have local programming from 7-8PM and also didn't count the (relatively) new 12-1PM newscast.

They'd need a lot of guest hosts on standby for as much as she's not there.

I wonder how much this is affected by their experience with the FOX LOCAL Detroit channel, which looks like it has news/talk programming 24/7.

It bafflers me that they would give that clown Charley his own show. I quit watching the weekend show because of him, as I see it he ran off 3 of his weekend hosts because of his dumb interview questions, his crazy antic and silly questions. I've always thought he had pictures on the GM to stay on air.
