Re: WPRR 1660 Silent STA
So, is 102.5 actually off the air?
I'm skeptical given past history.

102.5 is off the air today. 1680 has been off the air for several months running now, but 102.5 has been on the air. In fact 1680 has been off the air more than its been on the air for around 3 years now.

Someone needs to give GR a high quality Urban AC or Rhythmic AC station.
Muskegon, Kalamazoo, Battle Creek, and Lansing all have such a station. It is ridiculous Grand Rapids lacks one.

Tyrone Bynum kills another radio station. Color me shocked and amazed!
Southpaws airs Saturday nights at 11:00 on Global Community Radio Channel 1; weekly on Pacifica Radio affiliates KCEI-FM 90.1, Taos, NM; KZGM-FM 88.1, Cabool, MO; KEPJ-LP in San Antonio, TX. Available on Spreaker, Apple Podcasts, & Pandora.
Re: WPRR 1660 Silent STA
At least WPRR filed for an STA! *cough*Synergy Media*cough*
If 1680/102.5 were to be offered for sale or donation, Holy Family Radio would likely be interested. They are currently on 1140, which is a daytimer with three towers and a translator on 98.3 out near GVSU that is heavily short-spaced to WLCS. 1680 is at the same site as 1140, but has only one tower. 102.5 broadcasts from the same tower that WLHT and WFGR broadcast from off of Alpine.

Re: WPRR 1660 Silent STA
Kalamazoo needs an actual Alternative Rock station (again). It's a pretty decent sized market to NOT have one. Perhaps this is the opening or push it needs?

What does that have to do with WPRR in Grand Rapids?

Assuming he saw "1660" in the header and is thinking Kalamazoo.

Great point; I overlooked that typo. I've corrected it in the OP.GrahamWellington wrote: ↑Sun Apr 26, 2026 9:03 amAssuming he saw "1660" in the header and is thinking Kalamazoo.

If I have any say over it, this won’t be the end of WPRR. Stay tuned.

Magic 104.9 WNWZ might benefit from this in listenership. Or better yet add some older R and B songs from the past.

I think the LPFM at 97.3 may benefit the most.

That could be. I totally forgot about that station.
