Brad Galli leaving 7
Re: Brad Galli leaving 7
That’s too bad… he’s always been pretty decent… now who are they gonna get for sports? The shoes are too big for Alex Crescenti I think.

His first few years were rough (too team friendly), but since then, I've grown to like him. He became a very good sports journalist and is very much at ease on camera, too. He certainly does a better job than his counterparts at channel 4.
I wish him well.
I wonder where he's headed? The recently launched Detroit SportsNet? The Athletic? 97.1 The Ticket? God forbid - channel 62? A different profession altogether?

All the best to Brad Galli. Behind Dan Miller, he's the best TV sportscaster, so he will be missed. Sad to see him leaving Channel 7. All the best to him.
I know that no one has the balls or funding to take on 97.1 The Ticket. So my hope of Brad Galli going to a sports radio station and being their guy to build the station around is a pipe dream. I don't know where he would fit on The Ticket. Their lineup seems set for the foreseeable future, unless Wojo retires in the near future. I doubt Brad would leave Channel 7 and go to 97.1 just to take a night time and swing shift hosting gig. I would presume he would want a day part shift that pays well.

Pat Caputo is unlikely to recover from his tragic health issues. So, there definitely is an opening.MrTaterSalad wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2026 3:27 pm All the best to Brad Galli. Re: Brad Galli leaving 7
Is Brad Galli leaving Channel 7 to take a 10pm shift and weekend swing shift to replace Pat? No disrespect to Pat and I certainly hope everything works out for him, as unlikely as it may be, with the cancer diagnosis. But even if he were to unfortunately not recover, this seems like a step down in Brad's career.
Re: Brad Galli leaving 7
He also said the next chapter will allow him to be around his family more at night which would barely be the case by having to leave for work in the 9pm hour or earlier for the 10pm show so I don't see that.
Re: Brad Galli leaving 7
His statement had me thinking he’ll be independent in some way.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2026 12:53 pm His first few years were rough (too team friendly), but since then, I've grown to like him. Re: Brad Galli leaving 7
Did any of you read his statement? He is leaving broadcasting, so he can be home with his kids at nite. He will likely do what a lot of folks are doing.. broadcasting his own stuff from home/podcast whatever.
As for The Ticket.. they arent looking for anyone nor need anyone.
Also, Brad was likely making around 150-175k at 7. Audacy is paying talent 60-90K now, Valenti excluded. They arent recruiting anyone good.

Podcasting or some kind of independent journalism with a site and newsletter is what I got from it.Newsman123 wrote: ↑Sat Mar 21, 2026 11:19 pm Did any of you read his statement? All the best to Brad I though the did a good job on Lions pregame show when Scripps had the rights to Lions football in the 2010s.
Formerly Username MasterB. GO Lions, Pistons, Redwings, Tigers, Let's GO Blue, Spartyon.
Re: Brad Galli leaving 7
Brad is great! He’s an incredibly nice guy, and he has been really good to work with. He will most definitely be missed around Broadcast House. But leaving on his own terms to spend more time with his family… that sounds like a win to me!

Seems awfully coincidental that this timing lines up with the launch of the new sports station.
