I wonder what WWJ will do for a national blurb at the top of the hour now?

Wow this hits hard as I've listened to WWJ all my life. I've always preferred CBS over FOX and ABC for the top of the hour stuff and really everything else on the radio.

Top of the hour, it will be buried at the end of the newscast.

I'm just a little worried that some of the smaller stations will switch to something like Townhall, which really won't help many people.

💯

It will be interesting to see if Audacy does something in-house.

Audacy can barely afford the people they have left. I think it just goes away and its all local.

There are other syndicated audio news sources, like AP. There's even "NBC Radio News" I've heard at TOH on out-of-towners at night. Don't know if anyone local carries it, nor who is really operating that under the "NBC" banner, but it's not the NBC.

NBC Radio News is an iHeart property it appears.

Yeah, anything calling itself "NBC Radio" hasn't been THE NBC since shortly after GE bought RCA and took control of NBC in the mid 80s. The former NBC radio operations that dated back to General Sarnoff and whatnot were sold off then, mostly to Group W/Westinghouse.

We'll see if the ABCNEWS TOH updates shift from 910 to 950 locally.

Audacy already uses ABC News Radio in New York, so I suspect they will just use that, if anything.

There’s a longform version too. WGL in Fort Wayne uses it. I’m guessing that’s gone too, meaning they’ll need alternate programming.

What's wrong with Townhall news? WGDN in Gladwin uses it and WION in Ionia.
