Got a bad feeling about the protests today…
Re: Got a bad feeling about the protests today…
You do realize the logistics of declaring in a country this size don't you? We don't have the man power in the military to enforce it and any militias would be busy guarding their own bunkers and would not work with organized military which would be required.

There were 40,000 troops deployed to Iran and other areas in the Middle East that could be redirected. Don’t think he won’t do it. We may be out of the woods for next week, but he can still make a snap decision to be dictatorial.

The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Your premise is not likely soon...

Got any updates on the "really ugly "?MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Sat Apr 19, 2025 3:57 am I am very worried that all of these people on bridges are going to be hemmed in by MAGA.MAGA militias are on standby already for possible martial law on 4/20. This could get really ugly. All I can do is pray.

This was the NYC Easter Parade this morning... Nothing out of the ordinary, maybe this guy was part of a militia...

Re: Got a bad feeling about the protests today…
I'm not so sure about that. Trump certainly cares about his approval rating, if he sees masses in the streets, in blue and red states, it's gotta affect him in some way.Rate This wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:34 amNobody in the White House cares about your protests.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 4:42 amOur protests worked. Re: Got a bad feeling about the protests today…
He cares about his approval rating to an extent but it’s already underwater (down about 10%) and he hasn’t changed a thing. We have that quote about him not giving a shit anymore…. That’s where I’m coming from. The folks who talked him out of it knew the blowback would be intense.Honeyman wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 9:55 amI'm not so sure about that. Re: Got a bad feeling about the protests today…
As important as I think the protests are, and I'm on the same side of that argument, I don't buy it as the reason something didn't happen on 4-20. Saying a prediction didn't materialize because of something else that happened is like saying the moon didn't explode simply because we sent Astronauts to it. Or like when I hear magas posit that Ukraine was invaded by Putin during Biden's term because it never would have happened under Trump. Until it's positively provable, it's not fact, and it's not likely connected. That kind of flimsy explanation is Qanon-level conspiracy logic.

Re: Got a bad feeling about the protests today…
The whole reason the protests were slated for 4/19 were to send a message before the 4/20 possibility of martial law, or did that escape you?ZenithCKLW wrote: ↑Mon Apr 21, 2025 1:29 pm As important as I think the protests are, and I'm on the same side of that argument, I don't buy it as the reason something didn't happen on 4-20. No, but I don’t buy your flimsy argument that the protest prevented martial law, which itself was already flimsy. But whatever helps you sleep at night. Feels like a logical fallacy here, where it is assumed one event prevented another. I can't remember the name of it.
