Mr. Henderson filed a comment or two with regard to the FCC's "Delete-delete" 25-133.

I agree with him on point #7.

Sounds great...

A) Is filling a response to an FCC action the appropriate place to draft a "Manifesto"?

B) Is the author (arguably in the top ten of the worst broadcast operators in the country) someone who should offering the FCC advice on how to run the agency?

Maybe, instead, he should be addressing his three Northern Michigan stations that currently have silent carrier signals.

I'm just amazed at his "success" arc in broadcasting operations both in Michigan and Texas over the span of the last 20 years.

That's the sweet irony. If there were more FCC field offices, those signals might actually be broadcasting programming.

Of course, other owners in northern Michigan probably love the fact a 100 kW signal that can & should be a major player is more-or-less mothballed. It means less competition for them.

In the 90s and early 00s, Sunny 102 / Sunny 101.9 was a great station. Even as a country station, I thought it sounded quite good.

You've been here longer than me. He took close to 4 million dollars in stations in Northern Michigan and whittled them down to a few hundred thousand dollars. You think he's going to start being sane in his old age?

Nah.

I will say I also agree with his remarks regarding the public file. Those records contain info only of interest to bureaucrats, not the general public.

Yet the airwaves aren't licensees property. I agree the public files have been pared down to marginal documents. I believe public airwaves need more accountability. How this fool can operate how he does certainly tells us operators have way too much leeway with the citizens property.
