Barring injuries, this team is a lock for the playoffs I think.

Writing them off after an April shutout?

I don't think he's writing them off, he's just saying you're a jinx. :lol

Zackly.

I think the Tigers have some of the best pitching in baseball. If Tork is for real, Dingler is moderately this good, Baez continues to hit .250, the division could be ours in September.

Royals series will be a good early test. Love to take 3 of 4. I think the Central is between the Tigers and KC.

Was I the jinx last year after they fell off after 12 games? Also, it’s not Mister, thanks.

I can't remember if it was Sparky or Leyland who said it, but the goal was to win the series at home and at least split on the road.

10-8, 1/9 of the season, projecting to a 90-72 record, even with the last two losses. An improvement over last season (86-76).

In 2024, the team had the same record after 18 games. But one big difference is the number of wins by the starting pitching. Last year, those 10 wins included only two wins by starters (both Skubal). The team was winning a lot of come-from-behind wins and people were wondering if that could be sustained.

This year, the 10 wins include seven wins by starters (at least one by all five of the regular starters). That tells me that the team is taking more control of games this year.

I also believe certainly the Twins, and maybe the India...er....Guardians, are weaker teams. That should also portend for a better Tiger record.

Interesting and cogent analysis. There's also our current injuries to consider, especially those of Cobb, Meadows, and Vierling; though that may be offset by the unexpected early contributions of Mize, Tork, and Baez.

What is wrong with Riley Greene? He looks absolutely lost at the plate.
