I thought the courts reinstated AP's access to the Press Room citing 1st Amendment issues.

Yes but they have changed the press pool that travels with him so that instead of the three wire services embedding with him at all times on a permanent basis they are rotating them out for other outlets with Spokeshole deciding who gets to go. You can bet your bottom dollar “other outlets” are friendly outlets.

I am under the impression that the Administration didn’t simply roll over and accept the court order on the AP… they have appealed.

The Trump administration, though, appears to want to impose the U.S. understanding of free speech on the U.K. The Independent reports that an unnamed source in Washington said that Donald Trump and J.D. Vance are putting pressure on U.K. Prime Minister Keir Starmer (Labour) to repeal the nation’s hate speech laws in order to get a larger trade deal signed.

Many places probably have the British understanding too given their one-time influence. Why is it that the party of “freedom” is only concerned about it when it’s their version and acts like nobody should be free to do something else?
