If he doesn’t then it’s an inevitable confrontation and a constitutional crisis. He will at some point simply not comply with the Supreme Court on some ruling. Does he use that bullet here and now?

Why not? What will SCOTUS do about it if he shrugs them off? Sure, they could find Trump in contempt, but I don’t think his Justice Department would even comment on it, let alone do something.

All very valid points. I guess the question is how much of his braggadocio is hot air and how much he’s actually willing to use. He has shown himself to be a colossal wuss in the past.
