Loud WSPD promos
WSPD has several promos promoting various programming. One of them promotes the Toledo Walleye hockey team on WCWA. It's louder than the normal programming as it opens with a stock air horn sound effect. I love the Walleye but do you really need to use such a loud noise that's louder than the normal programming WSPD airs? Not to mention, it's aired multiple times an hour. I've heard it three times in less than an hour. They also had a promo for Rocket Basketball before their season ended that opened with a buzzer. Do you really need to promote it multiple times an hour as well? I know the CALM act doesn't apply to radio but this wouldn't pass if it applied.

Re: Loud WSPD promos
I mean, the Walleye and UT are FAR from the only advertisers who use loud, annoying sound effects to get people's attention. Even locally.
"DING-DONG!" "Pamela Rose presents an auction!"
And they run the same commercials over and over again because their audience is literally dying off and the programming is so far right that Fred sounds too liberal compared to the rest of it, so they don't get advertisers like they used to.

Re: Loud WSPD promos
Is Fred still working at Speedway stocking shelves part time or just going left in the morning?
Re: Loud WSPD promos
Unless it's overmodulating it can only be so loud. Certain SFX can appear louder via EQ... more midrange.
