Chief Craig is incapable of running a competent campaign for office. Pretty hard to get elected that way.

Chief Craig had people that were incompetent. It’s not a campaign for class President. Candidates don’t run much of anything with signature gathering and such.

Lt. Governor Garland Gilchrist is in too. I actually heard him speak a couple of times and thought for a fairly young guy (early 40’s I think) he sounded promising.

Craig might be better in the number 2 slot with Duggan. They worked together before in Detroit.

That's an interesting possibility; Craig as the running mate to Duggan.

None of the current GOP candidates or probable candidates impress me. Now, if someone like John James were to toss his hat into the ring, my opinion would change.

On the Dem side, Benson's campaign launch speech was about as interesting as watching paint dry. Chris Swanson may have potential; would like to learn more about him. Joe Tate wouldn't stand a chance of winning if he were to run. I don't know enough about Gilchrist, but as I recall, his politics are to the left of Whitmer, which would hurt electability in a general election. Lt. Governors of Michigan in modern history have never been successfully elected Governor, either.

If the election were held today, even though he has baggage that I find a bit troubling, I probably would vote for Duggan.
