Sorry, but it's hard for me to have much sympathy for a guy who murdered two people by beating them to death with a baseball bat.

His death was nowhere nearly as violent as that suffered by his two victims.

Sigmon had his choice of three execution options; this was the one he chose.

If one wants to call capital punishment as a whole barbaric I won't put up an argument.
But as a way to go 3 bullets in the heart is quick and I imagine painless as fast as it happens.
Its more reliable and a lot quicker than a needle or electricity.
I'd argue it's the least barbaric since they can euthanize a dog or horse way better than a human for some reason.

The needle would be the most painless, as the unfortunate victim is already unconscious before the death injection is administered. You are still conscious for about a minute after your heart stops.

A point to ponder as you talk about a firing squad being barbaric, up until 1991 the guillotine was still a method of execution in the state of Louisiana.

To clarify, I think the death penalty is barbaric any way it is administered.
