Trump tariffs
I posted this in the Trumpwatch 2.0 thread already, but this matter is of sufficient significance to deserve its own thread.
The tariffs imposed by Trump last night represent a massive tax increase on a wide cross section of American commerce and American consumers.
Remember when conservative pundits (correctly) called out Dems for refusing to refer to Islamic terrorism by name?
I think Trump kool-aid drinking Republicans need to be taken to task in a major way for refusing to recognize new tariffs as a massive tax increase.
The negative domestic economic repercussions from these tariffs, if they are not rescinded in short order, will be much more significant than any new tax imposed during the Obama years.
The fact Trump has imposed a massive net tax increase by completely circumventing Congress should be deeply troubling to real conservatives (populist nationalists are not real conservatives).

Trump is too stupid to know what "reciprocal" means.

None of this is by accident. Trump is a Russian asset.

Re: Trump tariffs
One cannot call himself or herself a "Reagan Republican" and be supportive of Trump's ridiculous tariff policies.

Re: Trump tariffs
So far he has flip.flopped more than most presidents when it comes to tariffs. They are one, they are off ,they will start, well maybe not.
Re: Trump tariffs
A presidential cabinet nugget was on FTN today stating the tariffs on these countries north and south of us are designed to get them to stem the flow of deadly fentanyl into the US.

Re: Trump tariffs
Except as was reported elsewhere more goes into Canada than the other way around. Also our border guards are responsible for searching all vehicles entering so it's on us yet again.

And the traffic is at such a massive rate that a really thorough search simply isn't happening so... It's a red herring to act like an asshole I think.
Donald Trump… In your guts you know he’s nuts.

Re: Trump tariffs
All well and good but it shouldn't surprise you that by in large the financial/economic literacy of your average MAGA dolt says that it's ______ paying the tariffs, not the American business community or consumer. I've seen it time and time again that these folks simply can not be convinced that _____ aren't the ones absorbing the increased costs. The best we can hope for is for these dopes to really get torched in their purchases to the point where reality sinks in but I'm not sure even that will get us anywhere. They'll just pin it on Biden/Obama/Hillary or some other boogeyman.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Tue Mar 04, 2025 9:06 am I posted this in the Trumpwatch 2.0 thread already, but this matter is of sufficient significance to deserve its own thread.

for a lot of these
