“Hire It Done” Adam Helfman 97.1 Saturdays 7-9am?

Used to always hear this brokered show w/contractors, home improvement, etc. on 97.1 from 7-9am on Saturday mornings. Recently, in the last couple weeks, it’s a different show. Kinda wondering where it went…

Maybe his show starts at 7:30 or 8:00 now or he was out of town the past week or two? He's on right now; I recognize that munchkin soundalike voice instantly. As usual, he's interviewing a guest trying to sell something.

Sorry I asked!!! These “brokered jokers” are always a source of entertainment, not real usable info or tips, especially since they are almost always on the move (think Ron Cameron or The Appliance Doctor).

Joe Gagnon was highly credible. Unlike many of these shows, he was not trying to sell a thing. The sole purpose of his show was to dispense repair and upkeep advice.

I agree, and I miss Joe’s show. I do kinda prefer these “trainwreck” brokered shows, though I can take or leave them.

This was Rich Homberg's strategy for replacing the late Glenn Haege ("Ask the Handyman") many years ago, when he took his show to WJR.

Tough crowd around here! I’m sorry I ever brought up Adam Helfman or any other brokered radio show or host! I actually wondered what happened to Helfman, because brokered shows were always on the move. Some people here think I’m a loser for even asking!

I was none the wiser on these kinds of things until I was asked to produce a phone call. The HID guys had me record a phone call between Helfman and someone's girlfriend, who was praising some window or door company. Never any work done or anything. If the check clears, you're good.

This show also airs on an iheart affiliate station in Grand Rapids (WTKG-AM 1230) .. recently went from 2 hours down to a single hour. .......It's tiring to hear all the Detroit-area contractors/sponsors, most of whom probably don't do work in the Grand Rapids area....
