At least mitt Romney, the day after he was defeated in 2012, was photographed wearing blue jeans and a causal dress shirt, no tie, awkwardly-forcedly smiling (you could see the loss in his expression), in a way to acknowledge his defeat and gassing up his vehicle himself at the self serve pump. But , at that late point, no primary, and subsequent campaign is possible. who else would Obama have had be the candidate?

Dems (pelosi, Schumer, clyburn) simply did this to themselves in not ousting Joe Biden in 2022 after the red wave that did not materialize. Dems hid his deteriorated condition under the rug, paralyzed by the fear of having Kamala exposed as a weak,candidate (re: the Oct 2023 Atlantic article “the Kamala Harris problem”) . Paralyzed by the fear of being called racist and misogynist at kicking out their own Diverse female deeply progressive candidate for a better presidential candidate. The GOP barely took the house in 2022.

And Kamala (“ California wine mom”) lost to Trump. “Teetotaler golfer Orange man”. ALL SEVEN SWING STATES. “Orange man bad”. Go figure.

Clinton foundation ran the DNC in 2016, and created the “superdelegates for Hillary” ( “I’m with her”)

They tilted the scale so Bernie Sanders was thwarted. But … but… “it was her turn”…

James Clyburn tilted his constituents in the SOuth Carolina primary , tilted them to Biden, and extracted promises from Biden for diversity equity inclusion in VP pick and Supreme Court nominees.

Poor Bernie Sanders, in 2020 again having Huuuu_ge momentum, was thwarted again.

And Joe’s VP pick and 2024 Dem primary pick, Kamala, lost to the Orange bad felon man. All seven swing states. Vibes, California wine, and joy!!

I agree with the general premise that had Biden chosen NOT to run for reelection, and if the Democrats had a "normal" primary cycle, that a stronger candidate capable of defeating Trump may have emerged.

Given the absurdly late timing of his decision to drop out of the race, it would not have been feasible to run primaries in all fifty states, and it also would have been stupid to let the massive campaign war chest that had accumulated go unused.

I think it is unlikely that Kamala Harris will be the Dems' nominee in 2028. If she runs again, she will fail again.
