Thinking about "unplugging" for a while

Unread post by Mega Hertz »

I'm trying to take a little break from politics and podcasts and stuff like that. I feel like I'm getting bombarded with shit 24 hours a day. I'm stuck somewhere between "everything is gonna be fine" to "they wouldn't do that......would they?" to "FUCK! FUCK! WE'RE ALL FUCKED!!!"

I love the place and all the conversation here, but I better slow it down. Last night I had one of those "paralyzed by fear" dread dreams with dead former presidents everywhere and the national Anthem playing backwards. So I think I might lay low a while. We'll see how I feel tomorrow. Maybe I'm just too inundated today.

Nonetheless, everyone be safe. And for God's sake, be cool.

Fully understand. Take care of yourself, Mega. Don't let the stress make you turn back to any bad habits.

We’ll all still be here. Take a break. I’m cutting out the political talk shows largely for the first time since 2004.

Try reading the paper everyday. Much better way to understand what is going on.

Take a breather, but we need all the anti-Trumpers ready when the regime takes control on 1/20.

I have stopped watching Meidas Touch. I feel a lot better.

I must say that your dead presidents dream may not be far from eventual reality.

Post election, I've seen so many people acting like idiots and saying the dumbest things, some who know better. It proves my belief that we lack adults in society, we have adults age wise but so many with lack of emotion control and logical thinking.

Essentially a society of Peter pans and those who still want to be Toys R Us kids.

People can have their own views, nothing wrong with that but when someone starts foaming at the mouth and spewing nonsense gibberish, the argument has been lost.

Rational adult conversations with opposing viewpoints, ok cool. Throwing out red herrings, Hitler comparisons, and acting like a 5 year old who didn't get a box of fruit roll ups at the store. Not dealing with it.

I totally get needing a break from the news, talk radio, podcasts, and YouTube stuff. It can be draining and can give you a very dark view of the world.

I’m gonna stop watching them as well… 15 videos a day at 20 minutes each often repeating the same clips endlessly after 2 minutes of new information is tiresome.

I stopped watching TV during the 2020 election season.

Anytime someone says pro-choice and anti-abortion in the same newscast they are liberal biased.
Psalm 139:13 ~ For you formed my inward parts; you knitted me together in my mother's womb.

Jeremiah 1:5 ~ "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, and before you were born I consecrated you;

Exodus 20:13 ~ “You shall not murder."

Anyone who is anti-choice and calls themselves pro life is a liar.

To be fair they simply have to say pro-choice and pro-life. (neutral).

TV stations will continue to tank of they don't learn this.

The old folks watch TV News, and they are generally more conservative.

It’s pro forced birth which endangers the life and health of the mother. Let’s be honest. You know what pro life is? Supporting reduced costs for childcare, universal pre K, and Medicaid for kids etc
