With Tigers grades coming out this week, I wonder what Ron’s off season thoughts would have been with the run they had

Ron would've been so preoccupied with talking about their "real" ages, he'd have precious little time this heated presidential election season to offer his incisive take on the "Electrical" College.
Cowboy used to complain about Tiant not being in the baseball Hall of Fame, of course along with Dick Allen.

He probably would have said that Hinch and Harris deserved one more season to prove themselves, then the Tigers should maybe look for someone else.

Ron would have some newfound respect for cub reporter Evan "Petgold":
If there was an "Underrated Tiger of the Year" award, Rogers would be the winner, thanks to his Gold Glove finalist nod for being one of the AL's top defensive catchers. His hitting regressed, but his glove shined throughout the season. He ranked in the 91st percentile in framing, the 89th percentile in blocking, the 75th percentile in pop time and the 65th percentile in caught stealing. Rogers also called pitches for all 31 of Skubal's starts in his Cy Young season, plus he worked as the catcher for all 61 innings in the seven postseason games.

Superfan

Fed up with PON, canned from DTK
Bob Page always said I was crazy
Publishing a magazine, owning baseball teams
No one ever said I was lazy
Hotels are my abode, far from five star
Feelin' the need to write my memoir

Producers have come producers have gone
Everyone trying to come in on me
Alex was neat but he had to break free
Martin, he only enraged me

Sometimes at night I hear their voices
I feel the traces they've left on my show
Those are the memories of the man they can't control
Those are the memories of the man they can't control

Superfan, open a restaurant when I can
Let me out of my lease 'cause I'm goin'
Superfan, come if you can
But sooner than later I'm closin'

Sometimes at night I see those places
I feel the collapses were beyond my control
There are so many difficulties when your a one man show
There are so many difficulties when your a one man show

Superfan, yes I am

That's great. Perfectly captures The Essence of Ron, who was "the man they can't control," but who stumbled when faced with things he couldn't control.

Ironically, Jake rated highest in the metric that Ron refused to acknowledge: pitch framing.

With the 9-month anniversary of Ron's passing soon approaching, Rob & I have talked about getting together with Buzzboard contributors, show callers/emailers (Meredith?), & anyone else in Ron's orbit, including producers & advertisers. If you're a Buzzboard member, please indicate whether you might be interested, &, if so, what your schedule looks like. Thanks.

I would be interested; my schedule is pretty flexible. Prefer a place with Jumbotrons and day-old scallops.

I always imagined a memorial service for Ron that would make a Dean Martin roast look like a still life painting.

I'm basically a loner, and not too good in groups, so I'll pass. But it's a great idea for anyone who's interested in this kind of thing.

Ron's Show Was Made For Talkin'

You keep sayin' what is all of this chatter
The same four topics on every show
You'd think that someone who's been on the air such a long time
Would have a lot more things that he would know

Ron's show was made for talkin'
And that's just what he'll do
One of these days Ron's show might even make some sense to you

Yeah

You keep hearin' ad spots instead of sports talk
For two restaurants and some other things
These ads they seem to go on for just forever
And you just wish that Ron's telephone would ring

Ron's show was made for talkin'
And that's just what he'll do
One of these days Ron's show might even sell something to you

You keep sayin' maybe I should call up Ron
And try to add some freshness to his show
You hope that Ron will not yell at you with anger
And give you a chance to show just what you know

Ron's show was made for talkin'
And that's just what he'll do
One of these days Ron's show might even get a call from you

Are you ready, Ron? Start talkin'

I am sorry .I will not be able to attend. Ron's passing has been very painful for me. So much so that I have spent the past 8 months in a mental ward.Upon my release from the looney bin I find it very comforting to find that the Ron Cameron thread still lives.
