Digital is an important part of the revenue equation.

It usually takes years for an upstart TV news operation to have any decent chance of success. Look at NBC 10 in Boston. They launched about five years prior to CBS Detroit and remain a miserable performer in the ratings:

The CBS template for their websites is very lackluster from what I recall in the past. I haven't looked recently, but it had been historically.
