AM 830 WMMI
1130pm and I am listening to AM830 WMMI/Mt Pleasant....thought this was a daytime only station?
Re: AM 830 WMMI
WMMI is a strict Daytimer, as it is within the protected skywave of WCCO 830 Minneapolis. It has an FM translator on 92.3. Having a PSSA or an FM translator often leads to forgetting and leaving it on if it requires someone to turn it off, or if it is controlled by a computer clock, it has the wrong time because of a reboot. There's really no reason to leave it on, because with all the interference from WCCO, the translator gets out farther anyway.

Re: AM 830 WMMI
I would tune it in on am AM-only car radio 30+ years ago to hear the venerable Sid Hartman, who double dipped for WCCO and the Minneapolis Star-Tribune with Sports. When the station from Shepherd, at that time would click on Jim Hughes, their newsman gave one breathy, time honored start of day newscast that was quite the journey back in broadcast style.
I know they went Classic Country after years of running talk there, Michigan Talk Network stuff. I suppose they captured Dave Carmine's audience in greater Harrison with that move!

Re: AM 830 WMMI
WMMI's satellite-fed playlist seems to be country "classic hits" (mostly '80s and '90s) as opposed to country "oldies" ('50s-'70s). I think 103.1 WGDN has the "oldies" covered pretty well these days.
Re: AM 830 WMMI
It is interesting to note that WMMI's original construction permit for 830 had it licensed to Marshall with 2.5kw day only. In 1986. the CP was modified to change city of license, etc. to Shepard.
