Does the shy Trump voter exist anymore?

Unread post by Matt »

In the past two cycles, it was speculated that the so-called silent Trump voters were undercounted, thereby understating Trump's support. I'm thinking that the models are compensating for that prior issue, but I'm not sure they exist after 1/6. People that knew Trump was an embarrassing choice, but were willing to hold their nose and vote for him. If those people don't exist, we could potentially see a comfortable Harris win.

Similarly, it is also possible that Trump hardcore supporters are answering polling to make this look closer or that Trump has a lead so that if he loses, they can again say it was stolen.

I wouldn't take anything for granted.

My hope lies in the fact Trump put his cunt daughter-in-law in charge of the GOP and she is as stupid as any other member of the family, more concerned with her singing career, and will not be able to get the ground game together as a competent person would. I think turning out the vote wins this election.

I strongly believe Matt is on to something with his first statement about compensation for the effect happening now and they could be overdoing it. My thing is why does everyone then say “don’t take it for granted?”. This isn’t 2016. We will make the observation, vote and bring 100 people kicking and screaming to do the same.

You can spin conspiracies any which way, but the siample truth is that he is going to throw a fit regardless of what happens. He's had lawyers working on this for months. His plan B is to sue up to the Supreme Court to have Electoral Delegates disqualified.
283,000,000 Americans didn't vote for Trump.

The young voters have to get out. Will Gen Z take Taylor Swift’s lead?

I just can't get over the fact this race is actually close. This horrific, despicable, self-absorbed mother fucker who has said and proven the contempt he has for the American people is still polling even boggles my mind. How is half the population so fucking dumb they can't see thru this facist, after what has already happened?

I hope your optimism is on point, Rate. It gives me hope.

You know why you don't get it? Because the people in your party refuse to look in the mirror. Kamala's approval rating has been between 38 and 42 percent for most of 2022, 2023, and the first half of 2024 until Biden dropped out.

She didn't participate in a primary process.

She didn't receive a single vote in a primary process.

Your party stiff-armed Biden out of the race.

Trump's approval rating among Republicans remains in the low 90s.

And after all that you're shocked that she's not leading in a landslide?

Might I suggest that you're simply delusional?

Maybe the Democrats should have broken up these oligarchical power players. That includes the banks, grocery stores, and other forces before Republicans claimed rising food prices as an issue. If only we had someone to do that? Oh yeah, we did. His name was Bernie Sanders. Thanks to Jim Clyburn and others stifling his momentum, we got Joe R Biden.

The party is free to choose a candidate however it wishes. In this case the entire party rallied around Harris on its own immediately and we are thrilled with her. Why that matters to a Republican other than the obviously terrified nature of the Trump campaign that they might just lose is a mystery.

A majority of the country thought Biden had to go so stiff arming him out of the race was a good move. The writing was on the wall.

Your party is butt hurt that their incredibly weak retread has to actually try to win and doesn’t seem very into it now. They are talking fraud up so much now that the only conclusion is that they have internal polling showing them losing by more than public polls let on. Something has them freaked the fuck out.

But there's also the complete idiocy of people like yourself. You think you know better than people who served with Trump as Secretary of State, Secretary of Defense, VP, in the Joint Chiefs and
hundreds of others who say he's unfit for office. You and others like you, who are too stubborn, too set in their ways, too fucking ignorant to even consider that these accomplished people might actually know better than you. You don't have the capability or intelligence to think for yourself. You are conditioned and must press the lever and vote for a Republican, even one as evil and as anti-American as this man. This is why you are a cult member.

No it isn’t. Sanders was absolutely unelectable. Liberals would have been thrilled. Independents and any crossover folks would have been terrified. Biden was the right choice for the moment. How do we know? HE WON.
