Not to mention, you could hear Ernie or the TV crew if it was quiet enough. No one can ever yank away the memories of Tiger Stadium from me. I got to walk the bases as a kid when they first started doing that. To know that you were walking where Babe Ruth ran was a spiritual experience for me. It is the most memorable thing of anything I have ever done.Honeyman wrote: ↑Mon Sep 30, 2024 7:25 pmGreat post. Tiger Stadium was a shrine. I loved that placeMotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 7:17 pmSeriously? Wow. The fan experience was great. You truly felt like you were on the field from the grandstand at Tiger Stadium. And the pop of the catcher's mitt reverberated to the seats.MWmetalhead wrote: ↑Sun Sep 22, 2024 3:50 pm Tiger Stadium was a complete dump.
Comerica Park has aged very nicely, in my opinion. Other than the exorbitantly priced food and drink, I enjoy seeing a ballgame there.
The only criticism I can see is the trough urinals which were disgusting. It was built after the turn of the 20th century so I don't want to hear bitching about the dugouts.
Losing Tiger Stadium was like losing a part of my soul. Make fun of me all you want. The lack of shade in Comerica is a big reason why I stopped going to as many games. I begged my dad to go each year to Tiger Stadium. Gosh, I miss that old girl.

They/them, non-binary and proud.
NEVER EVER COMPLY WITH FASCISM!!!
The right needs to stop worry about what’s between people’s legs. Instead, they should focus on what’s between their ears.
Audacity sucks.

Could not agree more! Too many sunburns at too many matinees has turned Copa to a no-go zone for me. No roof, no thank you. I’ll watch from home.MotorCityRadioFreak wrote: ↑Mon Sep 23, 2024 7:17 pmThe lack of shade in Comerica is a big reason why I stopped going to as many games. I strongly prefer the baseball experience at Tiger Stadium. Better protection from sun and shade, closer to the action. Comerica Park is good for the non-baseball stuff. Getting invited to a company suite, taking the kids to the merry-go-round, wide concourses. But for the game itself, give me the fortress of Tiger Stadium over the vast expanse of Comerica.
Re: Tiger Stadium 25 Years Ago
I went to Tiger Stadium in its final season spring VS the O's and the Tigers won. I also saw the Yankees in 98 at Tiger Stadium a week earlier as stuff fell from the old Yankee Stadium and couldn't play there that weekend. Been to Comerica one time very beautiful stadium in 2010.

Re: Tiger Stadium 25 Years Ago
I remember going to the final season of Tiger Stadium with my parents when I was twelve to watch them play the Mariners. Ken Griffey Jr was one of my favorite players and (pre-steroid) Alex Rodriguez was one of the fast-rising stars of baseball at the time, so I was more excited to see the Mariners than the Tigers. We moved to Toledo a few years earlier, so I didn’t get to watch many games at Comerica until I got to college (2006).
